Hi All
Going to be a fun weekend looks like we have some warm weather and rain on the way.
For Saturday I think that preping with LF8 (Swix Red) will be the call, if you don't have that don't worry we will apply it on Friday night at the hotel as well as a course structure.
Remember that we need the following
Skis taped for glide
Name on the skis on green tape
Klister kick zones clearly marked on the skis if you know them
Looking forward to a great weekend

Hardwood Night race Feb 19
Hi All
Looks like the weather is going to be tricky tonight, +2 and rain.
Please put on a red wax (HC wax only) and we will put rills in the skis which should help.
As for klister I will be bringing the trailer to the race so that we can do some testing.
I will also bring benches so that parents and older kids can help apply.
Zero's might work tonight, definitely worth a try
See you at Hardwood

So the temperature looks like it is going to be about +2 and rain.
This is a perfect course and conditions to double pole, if you have ever thought about double poling a race this might be the one
Glide
Tomorrows race is going to need the right pair of skis more then glide wax, I am recommending to use CH8 which is Swix red, you could use a yellow wax but the red wax will tend to pick-up less dirt and stuff off of the trail.
I will be bringing the riller with me, this will help stop the suction on the bottom of the skis
Grip
If you have zeros you might want to bring them to give them a try, I think it might be a little wet, but it is worth a shot.
We are going to be using Klister, so please tape for grip and apply a violet base wax very thin to your klister kick zone. We will test waxes when we get there and we will bring 2 tables with us.
Things to bring
Look forward to seeing everyone there

muskoka loppet update
Hi All
the weather looks a bit colder than I saw yesterday
Glide
For glide wax you might want to look at a colder wax then originally thought,
Vauhti LF Green
Swix LF 4
Toko HF or LF blue
Rex blue is also a great product, if you have travel wax on your skis it should be pretty quick
Start SG8
Topper
I will bring some TK72 topper and we can apply it for you tomorrow
Grip
For Grip wax please iron a layer of V30, it will help to keep the wax on and not slow down the skis
We will be testing wax tomorrow and helping with application

Muskoka Loppet
Hi All
This is a long range forecast for those who don't have time to wax on Saturday, I will update this tomorrow when I see the forecast
The glide is going to be pretty easy with cold overnight and high of -3 and new snow on Sunday.
This is not a paraffin series race so you can break out the fluros if you like
Since it is a classic race the speed is dictated a lot by the kick wax so if you have a regular blue wax go ahead and use it, there will not be a big difference in speed.
For those who want to get excited and put on a pure fluro topper there are a couple you can choose.
Vauhti Black Fox is pretty good in these conditions
Rex TK72 is a good choice
SFR 92 also falls in this range.
Vauhti HFC 15
As I mentioned above though the speed of the ski will be mostly influenced by the kick wax
For those who are doing the 30K I would tend to use the Swix VG35. I have had luck with this product in new snow at these temperatures.
Keep the layers really thin
For those of you who need help check out this video, it is a good step-by-step https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSyh3Vr7ok0

Kick wax
Well this could go any number of ways depending on the snow but a safe bet would be to iron in a layer of Swix v40, it will provide a good base and ensure the grip that is put on will stay in place. For those who are doing the 30K I would tend to use the Swix VG35. I have had luck with this product in new snow at these temperatures.

Hi All
The forecast looks like we will be at about -7 tomorrow by race time and cold overnight
Remember this is a paraffin series race so I would recommend:
Swix CH6 (regular blue)
Skigo blue
Rex Blue
I personally like the Rex blue the most but both of the others are good too.
We will have the riller with us tomorrow and we will put in a fine structure in the morning
Looking forward to seeing everyone there
